The Higher Education Loan Coaltion (HELC) is the only organization exclusively dedicated to representing your interests and those of direct lending institutions across the country. The Coalition is comprised of volunteers committed to protecting and improving student loan programs. Our members are financial aid professionals from participating institutions.

• Weekly policy updates and real-time alerts that cover recent news of interest to the Coalition from Congress, the administration, and other stakeholders. These updates also provide information about upcoming events and links to reports and various publications.
• Insight on how to effectively work with contractors and insider knowledge from federal agencies and Capitol Hill.
• Invitation to join HELC Board of Directors in Washington, DC once a year to meet and strengthen relationships with Department of Education officials, members of Congress and their staff, and other leaders in higher education.

Together, our voices are a powerful force when we deal with the Department of Education and as we communicate with members of Congress to assure that student loans remain a viable source of student aid.
